The multifunctional space at I Gelsi Shopping Mall in Modena has risen to precise challenges. The first one was crafting a space that is flexible enough to accommodate various activities, such as retail, informal dining, networking, and relaxation all without exceeding cost or complexity. The second one was designing an open and airy environment but nevertheless providing areas perceived as private and personal by customers. This was done carefully in order to make up for the absence of natural light. Area-17 meets these expectations with an essentially furnished space, where simple elements and neutral surfaces can be easily moved and readjusted according to specific needs. A bold selection of vibrant colors defines the different areas according to their main function, while the bright shade of natural wood unifies the space and evokes a feeling of wellness and deep relaxation.
