Homestead in Trakai, Lithuania
Trakai / Lithuania / 2014
Scandinavian-style homestead in Trakai, Lithuania designed by Ernestas Možeiko ( 4Sienos) and it covers
156 sq. m.
One of the most important tasks was to create a unified interior. Each room is different, but harmoniously
fits in the overall house design. The main request from the client was to create interior that would be
minimal and would take as little possible time taking care of- which meant that many things like shelves,
storages and other places that collects dust had to be enclosed. As a result house contains many storages
that blend in to the overall interior, which decreases the volume of the wardrobes.
Homestead interior is modern Scandinavian style. The main materials of this style are light colours, wood
and concrete. As a result, it creates contrast between each of this surfaces, as all them are so different, but
at the same time they work together creating tasteful interior.
According to interior designer, minimalist style requires that every detail is thought about, because this is
the main attraction of this style - details. There is no need to be afraid of integrity and simplicity. There is
no need to try to make every corner of the house different – or otherwise the result could often become
"cheap".
