 December 2015, the most important Chinese interior design award - “Jintang Prize” was announced, Toronto Seafood Cafeteria (Wuxi MIXC Branch) won the “Chinese best restaurant space design of 2015”. This is the forth time that Shangrui Yuanzhu’s designer, Sun Liming got Jintang Prize, proving again that “Design creating value” is perfectly presented in his works.

 Located in Wuxi City, Toronto Seafood Cafeteria gives every customer a personal visiting experience. Combining slightly luxury and contemporary industry style, reflecting eastern and western modern lives, view changes while moving, in order to present a fashion city atmosphere to all diners.

 In the opinion of Mr. Sun Liming, a good design should qualify himself for seizing in the first time the relation tie between space form and customer’s need. To some extent, he should be not only a space designer, but also a restaurant food designer, knowing more about planning and marketing of a restaurant than its boss.

 Restaurant space overall layout and circulation set is an open circle shape, fully showcasing the atmosphere and reflecting the whole building. This pleasant place is also very attractive to its main target’s consumption psychology -- preferring a comfortable dining environment, with bright and refreshing social atmosphere. 

 In these unpredictable and trend changing days, it’s not easy to maintain a smart and pure view,  but Sun Liming like to search balance between the oppositions.

 Toronto Seafood Cafeteria has a water and yarn-like device on top, showing some “soft warm“, but some metal plates with “hard cold” feel, which result in a balanced beauty of emotions, gentle and cool harmony, just like a rich and naturally space symphony.  

 But space arrangement is not limited by this balance. Integration use of lots of detail techniques and elements, emphasizing its sense of quality, fun and experience. The bar and seating area are well linked, moving line and the ground reflects one and the other, metal lanyards and vertical screen is not only for display, but also separating the space...

 Apart from art, there’s no better way to run away from the normal life; but to connect the world, art seems to be the best way. Under this “City slight luxury” atmosphere, Sun Liming did a aesthetic try for new dining sense. Fashionable “industry style” mental components are used as space support, its different forms, sizes, shapes give people a stunning art show.

 In addition, materials and colors in this space also followed the logic of rational. Leather, mirror, fabric, component, mosaic art, they’re all connected by the metal hanging curtain in a logical clue, which become various scales symbols on a space staff, turning from vision to music. Different color tones (blue, brass) show a bold conflict, listed by size, density, in horizontal and vertical space, until totally dispel.
