Situated in the heart of the beautiful Eixample district of Barcelona, the Concept Store and Café Jaime Beriestain was recently inaugurated. The one of a kind space incorporates Jaime’s interior design tastes with a selection of furniture, paintings and objects, along with personally selected items on the café menu.
In this multispace café, Jaime Beriestain gives Barcelona what it’s missing – restored vintage furniture, flowers, candles, international books, fragrances, hand created rugs and a personal collection of art. The café-restaurant is the fruition of his passion for gourmet food.
The Concept Store and Café Jaime Beriestain is the kind of the place that the Chilean designer would hang out himself - a combination of a cosmopolitan environment with the feel of a stylish home where he would entertain his own guests. Various natural environments make up the store: one corner of urban decor, country, sea and a rustic mountain component. Also, the library holds several international editions of books, and the stationery and candles have been personally selected for Beriestain in different countries. Of particular importance are the pieces of vintage furniture restored from the 60’s and 70’s, which Beriestain has personally acquired during his numerous travels. This is the fruit of Beriestain’s personal evolution; the pieces in this establishment mark a return to authenticity and essece, without forgetting to include beauty and simplicity, too.

This amazing space consists of 500 square meters, and contains, besides the store and café-restaurant an area devoted entirely to flowers. One of the passions of this decorator is being able to receive friends at home, while playing the role of a perfect host. For that reason, Beriestain also wanted to give prominence to the flowers in the Concept Store. Under the guidance of a specialist and flowers imported from the Netherlands, floral arrangements (big and small) are created for events under his supervision.
The CAFE - RESTAURANT offers up traditional gastronomic cuisine as well as flavorful market creations. Beriestain personally created the menu with the chef, and it offers up traditional childhood fare, such as grandma Sofia’s onion soup or a tasty banoffee cake – a return to traditional cooking. The café only uses local ingredients and authentic raw materials to construct their cuisine. It also provides a selection of low-calorie dishes for those regulars that pay special attention to personal care and diet but do not want to sacrifice the pleasure of good food!
Notable items on the menu include: a DO Portablava Catalan chicken roast (that requires 12 hours of cooking), a terrine honeyed lamb (also slow-cooked for 12 hours in its sauce) and a DO Delta Rice with crayfish and artichokes. The menu also pays special attention to desserts, all homemade and made from recipes that Beriestain personally customized.
With an 80-person seating capacity, the restaurant kitchen is open daily from 08:30 to 23:00. The menu also includes varied breakfast and snack items with a selection of delicious cakes and pastries, a quick lunch based on sandwiches or a complete lunch or dinner. And finally, a wide range of gin and tonics which make for a lovley evening, with a DJ offering up live sessions.
