An isolated house located in a small residential area of the coastal road linking Sant Feliu de Guíxols with Tossa de Mar. The project consisted in designing a building that worked as a shelter from the North winds and also faced the open sea.
Distributed on 2 floors, the arrangement of the three open blocks from east to west in a 180 degree orientation over the Mediterranean Sea allows its occupants to contemplate the course of the sun from sunrise to sunset.
The infinite pool, of small dimensions, intends to bring the sea into the building giving it a piece of the Mediterranean halfway between the living room and the kitchen.
The lower level floor, with three underground facades, provides the rooms that benefit from the thermal inertia.
The original site, with a steep slope towards the sea, represented a constructive challenge when seating the building and integrating it into the landscape. Avoiding earth movements and environmental impact was a challenge, and at the same time the most rewarding part of the project.
The garden was designed with ground cover, aromatic & shrubby plants, as well as native trees. We believed this would, in the near future, facilitate the coexistence with the environment.
Natural limestone and a large format of porcelain tiles make up the façade cladding. The first one, white stone, was placed on the upper floor to play with volumes and light. The second, black ceramic, covered the ground floor, giving it lightness and merging it with the soil and vegetation.
Energy efficiency was achieved with orientation, cross ventilation between different levels, home automation systems and solar energy. LED lighting also has played an important role, both inside and outside, along with the aluminum joinery with very low emissivity glass and sun protection systems.

Vivienda unifamiliar aislada situada en una pequeña urbanización de la carretera de la costa que une Sant Feliu de Guíxols con Tossa de Mar.
El proyecto consistía en diseñar un edificio cerrado a norte y abierto al mar. Una casa a refugio de la Tramontana y protegida de la vista de los curiosos.
La distribución se hizo en 2 plantas y en tres bloques abiertos de este a oeste, sobre el mar Mediterráneo. La disposición de los bloques, permitía una orientación sobre la bahía de 180º y la posibilidad de contemplar el recorrido del sol desde la salida hasta su puesta. 
La piscina desbordante, de muy pequeñas dimensiones, pretendía introducir el mar en el edificio, dotarlo de un pedacito de Mediterráneo a medio camino entre el salón y la cocina. 
La planta inferior, con tres fachadas bajo tierra, albergó las habitaciones beneficiándolas de la inercia térmica que ésta les proporcionaba. 
La parcela original, con una fuerte pendiente descendiente hacia el mar, representaba un reto constructivo a la hora de asentar el edificio e integrarlo en el paisaje. Evitar los movimientos de tierra y el impacto ambiental fue lo más difícil, y a la vez, lo más gratificante del proyecto.
El jardín se diseñó a base de planta tapizante, aromática y arbustiva, así como de arbolado autóctono. Creímos que eso facilitaría, en un futuro próximo, la convivencia de la vivienda con el entorno.
El revestimiento de fachada se trabajó con piedra natural caliza y gres porcelánico de gran formato. La primera, piedra blanca, se colocó en planta superior para jugar con los volúmenes y la luz. El segundo, cerámica negra, reviste la planta inferior, dándole ligereza y fundiéndola con la tierra y la vegetación.
La eficiencia energética se consiguió con la orientación, la ventilación cruzada entre plantas, la domótica y los sistemas de captación de energía solar. También jugaron un papel importante la iluminación a base de leds, tanto en el interior como en el exterior, la carpintería de aluminio con cristales de muy baja emisividad y los sistemas de protección solar.
