The design of the school building reflects the special needs of handicapped children, who are studying and spending their time in the inner spaces in the classrooms and workshops. Outer spaces had to be protected and easily controlled, so the building has southerly oriented terraces on the ground floor with small gardens, a big roof terrace for celebrating birthdays and other special occasions, and an opened atrium with the trees and rounded benches in the central part. Special sport fields are situated in the west part of the school yard.

Rounded benches are actually wooden platforms for sitting or lying, talking and listening, reading loudly or silently, learning or simply hidden day-dreaming amongst maple trees and friends. They can be used by few pupils or a few groups of pupils at the same time. The benches are moveable, so that they can be placed closer or further to each other. Therefore, pupils and their teachers are invited to teach and spend their time in the open spaces as much as it's possible.
