THE PROJECT

For this Hong Kong restaurant duo, Nathan Allan Glass created a series of ten textured cast glass panels for a walkway façade. The three-dimensional glass acts as a divider between the two spaces, while also creating a sense of openness and fluidity.

These refined glass partitions elegantly distort light to create privacy without sacrificing illumination. Diners can enjoy the beauty and of our sophisticated cast glass from all angles, whether they choose to dine at Isono on the main floor or at Vasco on the upper floor.

THE GLASS

Convex Glass is an extremely unique glass product. Created by Nathan Allan, and exclusive to Nathan Allan Glass Studios, Convex Glass has a deep 3-Dimensional surface, which is awe inspiring to view, and extremely complex to produce. Using proprietary Free Forming glass procedures, Convex Glass provides a beautiful visual appeal, while also creating a light distortion and shadowing effect. This dual combination creates a level of privacy for our clients, while allowing a high percentage of light to travel through the glass and illuminate the space.

SPECIFICATIONS

The cast glass panels for this project are made from clear glass with the Convex Squares texture from our Freeform Series.

Each glass panel measures 5’0″ x 8’0″ (1500mm x 2400 mm), and is constructed of 3/8″ (10mm) tempered safety glass.

Lighting on both sides of the glass dividers enhances the three-dimensional texture of the glass.

DESIGN

World-renowned interior designer Joyce Wang beautifully incorporates our Convex Squares cast glass dividers into the design of Isono and Vasco. Wang has elevated dining to another level by layering radiating globes of light with metal and stone finishes, which all blend seamlessly with the stunning 3D texture of our Convex Squares panels to create a retro-futuristic look.

INSTALLATION

The cast glass panels for this project are installed in stainless steel frames with glass cushions underneath the glass panels siliconed on perimeter edges. The installation was done by Multiplex Construction.
