SWISS RE | Carl Stahl Architecture
Green and airy Munich / Germany / 2005
A delicate windbreak of Virgina creeper and wisteria encloses the two- storey complex around the inner atrium, which was designed for Swiss Re by Hamburg architects Bothe Richter Teherani. Four units are grouped around the access core like the sails of a windmill. A square floating gallery suspended on the outside surrounds the offices, which are 10 metres above the ground, comprised partially of three X-TEND layers arranged one on top of the other, this second skin is growing rapidly greener.
