Reconstruction Of Historical Vila | PROJEKTSTUDIO
Ostrava / Czech Rep. / 2015
The main motto was to free the villa from overgrown landscape beds, revive its prominent position, and so give it back its essential and sumptuous aura that it originally had. The previous owners only occupied the villa, but didn’t take care of it properly. The aim was to reveal the historical appearance of the building, follow it and keep its traditional look. As an inspiration served both re-discovered picture by Oskar Kokoschka, and the mysterious picture Judita by Gustav Klimt that can be seen in the Ostrava Cultural Centre. The whole concept consisted in removing of redundant materials from the premises, keeping the authenticity of the era and geometry of decorations, and highlighting the area around the entrance of the building and the entrance itself.
