The apartment has been purchased by an English family living in Barcelona for its curious distrubution and the fact that it had many original wall paintings with scences reminiscent of Barcelona. However it was in very bad shape, an added mezzanine, and a servants floor that was just uneccessary.

The project was very intriguing for us, as on the one hand it was almost a conservation project, but on the other hand we also decided to give new functions and identities to the existing spaces, creating new acceses, closing doors, uniting rooms. We also decided to place the kitchen right in the centre of the apartment, with a huge ilse from which one can observe all family live, like a statement a for modern way of living!

A lot of the furniture has been bespoke and made to measure by us, like the kitchen, the bookwall, the benches, and designed to maintain the 1920´s feel of the apartment.
