Looking to create your own place to live, we proposed the recovery of a house, stable and a grove of oaks, chestnut and cork trees, situated on a farm, near the City of Guimarães.

The program was created to meet current needs, maintaining its original characteristics.

The adjustments were to meet the original morphology of the propriety, consisting in terraces that led the house orientation and provided it with a direct access to the outside, on all floors, except the tower.

The building is south oriented, arranged in an “L” shape and organized in 4 floors.
The ground floor is an interior extension of the main living areas of the 1st floor, is related to the main entrance area of the house that is made through the staircase and porch that stand out from the facade for its grandeur and elaborate stone masonry.

The first floor connects to the ground floor through a spiral staircase with a strong decorative nature, which leads to a social use.
The living rooms extend to the outside on the South, where the pool is the leading element, preceded by terraces and a lounge area that complements the inner social areas.

The second floor corresponds to the private areas. The tower hosts an office / library, going up from a living room on the 2nd floor. In this living room there is a strong interaction between the restoration and the contemporary intervention, marked either by the restoration of ceilings and wainscoting, or trough new solutions that favors and promotes rehabilitation and how it was conducted.
The tower has a privileged view over the landscape, operates as a viewpoint that provides an aerial view of the gardens at a lower bound, in "land art" style.

The interior is characterized by decoupling the outside. All the historical elements of the building were preserved and restored and even replicated, with a view to create an identity where the duality between the past and the present coexist in the same space. On one hand there are elements that preserve and recreate the building's historical memory, on the other hand were assumed minimalist traits that are identified with the new users. This Results in rich interior details and solutions in an interaction between the two languages without giving up the essential user comfort.

The annex retains the main features of the original building where there were stables. It now hosts a workshop that privileges the visual contact with the cars that are in the garage, as a source of inspiration to the design developed. It also keeps, whenever possible, a relationship with the surrounding landscape.

Procurando  criar um sítio próprio para habitar, propôs-se a recuperação de uma  Moradia , ruínas  de um anexo , e um pequeno bosque de carvalhos, castanheiros  e sobreiros, situados numa Quinta, numa  das encostas  da Cidade de Guimarães. 
O programa foi criado  para dar resposta às necessidades actuais, porém, manteve-se a  volumetria e o aspecto  originais.
Os  ajustes foram ao  encontro da  morfologia existente de  pendente  acentuada,  constituída   por socalcos que caracterizam a paisagem e actuam  de forma relevante na  disposição da Moradia, facultando-lhe uma relação directa com o exterior em todos os Pisos, com excepção da Torre.

O  edifício encontra-se  orientado  a Sul, disposto em forma de L, constituído  por R/c mais 3 Pisos.
O  R/C funciona como um prolongamento  interior  das  zonas  de estar  principais do 1º Piso, relaciona-se com  a praça de  recepção que acolhe a zona de  entrada  principal  da  Casa,  feita pela escadaria  e  alpendre que  se destacam  da  fachada  pela  sua  imponência e  elaborada cantaria.

O 1º Piso liga-se  ao r/c através de uma escada  helicoidal com forte carácter  decorativo,  que  induz  a  uma utilização social.
As Salas  estendem-se ao  exterior a Sul,  onde a  piscina  assume  lugar  de  destaque, precedida  por  terraços,  zona  de convívio que  complementa as zonas  sociais interiores.
O 2ºPiso corresponde às zonas privadas,  e a Torre  acolhe  um  escritório/biblioteca , acedendo-se   a partir  da sala de estar  do 2º andar, onde existe uma  forte convivência entre o  restauro e a  intervenção  contemporânea,   o restauro dos tectos em masseira e lambris  convivem com novas  soluções que  privilegia e promove  a reabilitação   e  a forma  como esta foi conduzida.
A  torre possui  uma vista privilegiada sob a paisagem, opera como um miradouro que  proporciona uma  visão aérea sobre  os  jardins  que  se  desenvolvem  a uma  cota  inferior , baseado num conceito de “land art”.

O interior caracteriza-se pela dissociação do exterior. Todos  os elementos históricos do edifício, foram preservados e restaurados e  até replicados, com intuito de criar uma identidade  onde  a dualidade entre o passado e o presente convivem no mesmo espaço. Se por  um lado existem elementos que preservam e recriam a   memoria  histórica do edifício, por outro  foram assumidos traços minimalistas que se  identificam com os novos utilizadores daquele  espaço. Resultando um interior rico em pormenores e soluções, que permitem o convívio entre as duas linguagens, sem  abdicar do conforto imprescindível do utilizador.

O Anexo mantém no essencial as características da construção primitiva onde existiam cavalariças. Actualmente acolhe um atelier com a particularidade de valorizar o  contacto visual com as viaturas  que  se encontram na  garagem, como que uma fonte de inspiração ao design desenvolvido naquele espaço. Além  de manter, sempre que lhe é permitido, uma relação com a paisagem envolvente.
