The client spent a long time searching for a top floor apartment to live in; as soon as he found this property, he was in no doubt and he purchased it. The current dwelling was converted from a dated 4 bed flat to a bright and airy space, creating a continuity between interior and exterior, benefiting from the spacious terrace and providing the most possible space to the remaining area. The exterior areas can be used all the year on thanks to good weather of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

As from this point, we have considered the brief with a simple scheme of uses, considering the terrace as key element, appreciating its unique facade. As a result we have positioned the wet areas at the main orientation- northeast- as the facade works as organizing axis and filter. It is a solar and acoustic controller that reverses the traditional order offering a different and more logical experience: protects the resting areas and values the recreation areas.

Regarding finishes selection, we have chosen oak for the internal finish floor, painted softwood for the furniture and joinery, and softwood thermally treated for the terrace. They respond to the same standards. Therefore, the facade has been unified by a glass plane and powder coated steel plate that respond to a spatial continuity with the same concepts: conceptual neatness and economic materials.
