110SM APARTMENT REMODEL COMPETITION | Ana Bastos Vieira

This project proposes a total reformulation of the apartment, the biggest one being the transformation of the old kitchen in to the new single/guest bedroom.
The kitchen and living/dining area are now just one wide and open compartment, separated only by the kitchen island (that can be used as breakfast/small meals table).
The master bathroom was kept in the same place, but the bath pieces were rearranged.
The master bedroom now has two complementary spaces: the closet and the private bathroom (which benefits from natural light and ventilation), separated from the bedroom by sliding doors.
The apartment now is completed with a storage/laundry compartment, as well as a closet in the entrance (to keep both coats as shoes as you enter the house).
This project reuses the existing wooden floor through the entire apartment (except for the bathrooms), and proposes light pastel colours in the furniture, punctuated by some stronger colours in the social part of the house (kitchen and living room).
