Our proposal for the Varna Library aims to provide the city and its region a new welcoming, efficient and sustainable cultural facility. The piazza of the library is designed as a new link in the network of public spaces in Varna. This new polarity structures the sequences of Osmi Primorski Polk Boulevard and Bratya Miladinovi street and accommodates a wide range of urban uses from daily life to special events.

The lobby of the library is conceived as an extension of the piazza. This indoor urban space is animated by the supply of services, information and events. At the same time it provides an overview of library spaces. The functions are distributed in a rational manner within the building to facilitate the orientation of the user as well as the operating process.
The singular image of an evanescent library is the result of our desire to optimize visual comfort in the readings spaces. Thus, the cladding of the building allows for natural light control, energy consumption reduction and passive inputs enhancement.
