Panchita Restaurant | Metropolis Oficina de Arquitectura
Lima / Peru
The premise of the project was to build a big house offering a new concept of Peruvian food. For this reason, the domestic atmosphere of the old coast country estates was recreated using images linked to the local typology found in the collective imaginary. These reinterpreted
codes constitute a dystopia.
One of the representative elements of this type of architecture is the wall, which is fragmented in separated pieces that are afterwards integrated in a gabion which is illuminated with a sequence of white and red lights that recall the Peruvian flag. The wall is the main element of the façade and forms the external skin offering scale and character to the project. A large entrance hall or lobby welcomes and announces the fantastic gastronomical event organized inside.
The dining room is distributed around a central space, as a square, in which all the costumers participate of the party.
