The brief from the client was for a budget conscious yet modern designed kitchen suitable for a developed duplex to be on-sold.  It was important that the design was classic and yet one that gave the home some personality.  The design was to make maximise use of minimum space and was also to consider the use of the open planned kitchen / living / dining space.

The selection of colours and finishes is quirky yet classic.  Mixing light & dark colours with timber.  The built-in timber dining table allows efficient use of space in the open planned living area. Open shelving allows space for display and a way to personalise each kitchen. Finishes of stone, timber, satin tiles & high gloss cabinets deliver the desired result.

The use of a built in dining table was a great innovation that helped to maximise the open planned area.  Also the use of different coloured splashback tiles allowed to create a feature of the one main wall.  This helped to create the desired difference.
