This project is a collaboration with one of the most important gallery owners of Barcelona, Miquel Alzueta, who is very knowledgeable about the work of French designer Jean Prouvé.

The project is based on the need to rehabilitate a neoclassical style house of 240 m2, located in the District of Pedralbes in Barcelona. This important action should keep decorative elements that give personality to the house (frames, moldings, show fireplace, etc.) and should, at the same time, become the perfect container to locate Prouvé furniture and other contemporary classics.

The distribution of the house is done through the dining room with table, chairs and buffet of Jean Prouvé and a Serge Mouille lamp, separating the day and night areas.

The master bedroom includes an antique dressing room restored and painted in black. In addition, a children’s room with a playground and its own bathroom. Both bathrooms are projected in natural limestone and oak.

The most important piece of the living room is the show chimney that presides over a small reading area. Completed by a seating and television area and an office from where the owner works.

Among the materials, oak wood is the protagonist of the work. Parquet pavement has been placed in the old way, as corresponds to the house’s age.

An air conditioning system, heating and others have been integrated into moldings and cornices of the house without diminishing prominence to pieces and decorative elements.

The kitchen is vented through an interior courtyard and stands out because the furniture and appliances are all stainless steel. The kitchen has a built-in pantry area and it contrasts elegantly with the rest of the house.
