1 | Open to Think and Create

A space that is open to think and create is free of visual clutter.

All the closed spaces - storage, pantry, bathroom - are sculpted into a single mass to reduce visual noise. The shape of the mass minimizes visual clutter by smoothing over the lumps and bumps of the site and conceals technical services.

The areas outside of the mass are an open space. The shape of the mass subtly defines areas in this space for the different activities: work, exhibitions, model making and workshops.

When not at work, the gaze shifts towards an entirely open facade overlooking the Singapore skyline.

2 | Gallery-Like

The space is treated like a blank canvas:

Principles of composition such as positive-negative spaces and dynamic lines to guide the eye are applied. The finishes are refined: reflective, white, smooth materials like mirror, laminate and mock-marble.

A neutral palette to enhance a revolving display of design presentations, studio exhibitions and statement furniture pieces.

3 | Green

The space is cooled with passive and low-energy solutions.

A grand entry portal with custom designed perforations allows the front door to remain open while working. This allows cross ventilation and a cool-breeze to flow through the space without sacrificing privacy. A single large DC Fan augments this and circulates the cool air.
