Fendi Private Suites, the first maison boutique hotel, is placed inside the eighteenth-century Palazzo Fendi, formerly headquarter of the historic Roman fashion house, overlooking Largo Goldoni in the very heart of Rome.
The property is accessed from the discreet side street Fontanella Borghese, where the entrance foyer welcomes guests in a both material and rarefied space, acting as a real filter between the chaotic shopping central streets and the intimate and welcoming suites located on the third floor: the iconic atmosphere is created by travertine perforated panels, similar to the plots of the Fendi fur, and large reception desk amber resin, suspended like a sculpture.
The seven hotel suites have been designed with maximum respect for the historical structure of the building, using characteristic elements and sumptuous materials: oak floors, precious limestones-painted wallpaper and bronzed brass elements for a contemporary re-interpretation of classic boiserie, leather and rubber trees wood for custom furniture, Italian marble for the bathrooms (Navona travertine and red lepanto, in reference to the floors of the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana, now headquarters of the maison.
The very private and cozy atmosphere of the suites features public areas: the lobby, punctuated by red lepanto marble portals, living area with fireplace and large libraries in marble niches, the informal meeting room, access areas to the suites ,enriched by site specific artistic work by light designer Mario Nanni.
Upon completion of suites and public areas are luxurious furnishings by Fendi Casa, photographs by Karl Lagerfeld and Helene Binet, artworks and fur tablets from Fendi private collection, art and fashion book, vases and ornamental elements from all over the world, result of a meticulous research and selection work. There is no lack of classic and contemporary design elements , as well as leather and brass Suites collection lamps designed ad hoc by architect Costanzi.
