'Room of poetry' : Urban installations

The urban space gives a unique context with a landscape that is multiple
and contrasted. Through this landscape the tramway establish a continuity,
in a rhythm of comings and goings, that gives an interesting dynamic : a
flow. The poets take time to comprehend their environment where they are
strolling and roaming.

The project ‘Loom on Wood’ is developing itself from the station Louise to the
station Botanique, mixing a structure of wood with thread.

1 . Station Louise

The experience starts there in the busy context of the Avenue Louise. The structure is submitting to the urban density. The linear formal is expressing the ascendency of the flow created by the tramway.

2 . Station Royale

The concentration of the thread on the wood is going to distort the structure that liberates itself progressively from the ascendency of the flow to exist by its own energy.

3 . Station Palais

This deformation generates a space called a passage between the different stations, symbolizing the transition between reality and imaginary.

4 . Station Botanique

At the opposite side when you arrive, an element overhang the gardens of Botanique that seems like a tree house. The element appears like a space symbolizing the creativity. The structure distort itself more and more at the same time you enter into the gardens, torn between reality and imagination. The thread appears lonely, with in the background, the contrast between
the skyscrapers of the North area of Brussels and the Botanique.

The project is part of the Kunstenfestivaldesarts, a festival that takes place every year in May. The information about the project are available on several tramways with also a commercial for the festival.
