Besides the Onga river in Nogata city, Fukuoka-prefecture. The deserted cityscape with Showa-era (1926-1989) buildings, 30 to 50 years old, has an "outdated" atmosphere. Where have ever been this city heading for?
Abandoned and left by their owners without renovation, this crowds of architecture almost seem awaiting to fade. And as if moored vessels were floating in the deserted city, they are dreaming a new resident who may or may not come.
In this cityscape, a new house was completed. This residence carries on the three traditions from the "NAGAYA" style: the linear site from "land division," the residential space "between two walls," "the gable roof" which sits over the two walls. As this traditions, this architecture has realized the fusion of the past, the tradition, and the modern life style.
Tossed around by the change between eras, the moored vessel in the deserted city, called "residence," is about to lead the resident to "destination" of life in this confused era.
