Design for the proposed commuter rail station. The station includes a pedestrian bridge which connects inbound and outbound platforms, accessible ramps, stairs, tactile edge strips. Integrated with the station proper is a bypass track for the freight line, support for the Amtrak service by providing swing tracks into the commuter rail station, a parking lot and bus loop. The selected station materials provide a historic allusion towards the neighborhood’s industrial roots and the geometries reference its future.
