At the evocative San Domenico monastery in Taormina, which was turned into the prestigious San Domenico Hotel several decades ago, Sandrini worked for renovating and recovering its wonderful gardens.
In conjuction with a great event celebrated by a very famous fashion Brand that chose San Domenico as Location, Sandrini realized a really significant and fascinating work by re-creating the classical Sicilian Baroque garden.
A blaze of colors, flowers and fruits where magic, scenography and the “aged” look create a unique atmosphere.
The inspiration comes from the research of the aesthetic standards of that noble and, at the same time, folk Sicily which was so praised and emphasized in the movie “il Gattopardo”.
Centuries-old Phoenix and Strelitzia plants have been emphasized by adding blooms of Bouganvillea and citruses, geranium mixed with Lantanas and Cistus, big vases and antique jars of different shapes and motifs are scattered in groups as if they had been there for ages and absolutely random blooms effects create a simple effect but also a great and flavorful atmosphere.
