The main task of reconstruction was necessity to distinguish between passenger flows of suburban and long distance trains. The central part of the station facade, built in 1954, was reconstructed; flanking volumes joined in 1979 were renovated in neoclassical style, and there was added turngate pavilion for suburban passengers to the right wing of the building. Also there were fully renovated interiors and engineering equipment of buildings.
