This project is a renovation of an existing house that needed to be converted into a home for the woman who was living there for years but never felt as if it was her real home.

The existing house was completely stripped from the inside but the existing wooden structure to support the roof needed to be conserved. In the design of the house, the choice was made to locate the bedrooms on the ground floor and the kitchen, ding and living room on the top floor but in an open yet private way.

Extra attention was paid to the materials used in this project because the woman in this house only wanted 'real' materials and old techniques. This resulted in for example the choice to have (handmade) barn-like doors.
