This imposing Grade II listed Victorian house had been subdivided and was falling into disrepair. Belsize Architects were commissioned to return it to a single family home and bring back its former glory.

The exterior was carefully restored, including a prominent graphic frieze and elaborate glazed panels. The ground floor was opened up to create airy living areas.

Key original features now sit alongside contemporary interventions, such as new fireplaces and a state of the art kitchen. In the basement we created a series of more intimate spaces including a games room, study and home cinema.

A former outbuilding and service yard was glazed over to form a spacious and light-filled library with handcrafted bookshelves. The main staircase was restored, and bedrooms were fitted out with bespoke joinery and en suite bathrooms.

A new external glass staircase leads from the main living area to the newly landscaped garden, where a garden pavilion has been added.
