The design of the bridge stems from the idea of creating a new urban public space which will serve as a local focal point intended for its users and for those passing under it. The concept of the fold was incorporated as a guiding notion and a method enabling a uniform surface to form complex spaces and volumes. The fold gives structural strength allowing minimal use of materials to create space. The bridge functions as an urban space used by the residents of the area as an open public place. It is designed as a partly-covered space with an aluminum grille siding on both of its sides. These elements make it into a safe space for rest, play and recreation. The covering is partial and enables the bridge to remain light and floating. The aluminum grille bordering the bridge on its sides is planned parametrically both from a climatic and a functional point of view. The intervals  between the aluminum elements increase towards the center of the bridge maximizing the westward views towards the sea. The entrance to the bridge is analogous to an entry into an urban balcony with varied height ceilings. As one advances along the bridge, the variable spacing in the aluminum grille changes and expands with views towards the sea. The bridge is an extension of the public realm of the residential neighborhood and allows pedestrians and visitors to view the scenery and spend time relaxing on it. The materials chosen for the bridge combine economic thinking , sustainability and design. The bridge itself is made of reinforced concrete clad in a painted aluminum grille. The laminate floor surfaces are constructed using recycled wood. The use of concrete as opposed to steel is more affordable and reduces maintenance requirements due to the proximity to the beach.
