Hotel Waldorf Astoria | Luxy
Architect Christoph Mäckel - Interiors Inter-Art-études, Aukett + Heese Berlin / Germany / 2013
The Waldorf Astoria Berlin is located in the heart of the German capital, in a district in full urban renewal; this hotel represents architecturally a slight contrast between the dramatically contemporary nature of its architecture and the timelessness of its interior design, where luxury is explained without ostentation. Designed by architect Professor Christoph Mäckler, the building is found within a triangular pattern made of three main arteries. Its arch-shaped body is topped by a tower overlooking Kaiser-Wilhelm-Straße. The design of the hotel’s interiors communicates the future while reinterpreting the Art Déco codes. Special care has been given to the making of meeting rooms where Nulite upholstered in full grain leather has been chosen.
