A hard material of great value which has its origin many years ago in Comiso area at the foot of Iblei Mountains, it has achieved the fame for being used in all the building and monumental constructions of the province of Ragusa and part of Sicily. Moreover, it has given the city of Comiso the possibility of ranking among the most important commercial activities in Southern Italy both at employment and economic level.

Design Marble, working in marble processing with enthusiasm and always aiming at success in new foreign markets, called it “Comiso Stone” and has received a satisfactory demand for indoor, outdoor and street furniture in the whole northern Italy, in northern Europe and in the Middle East.

We point out some production processes starting from the quarry in the course of time:

-          From the double-faced cape chisel and the hammer until today with machinery to beat the marble wall

-          The single-blade used for block squaring

-          The diamond chassis used for slab cutting, which can have a thickness that varies from 2 cm and over, depending on the use (decorating houses, villas, shops, squares, etc.)
