A place at the centre of a capital. Stratification as mandatory topic. Introversion as function, the public space has been inserted and invented in the opaque body of the existing building. The underground Rome, Amor, rises, awakened by the construction site's noises, and the total white, the colour of respect for the Public building, covers the almost Baroque or almost modern curves.

“[…] History is the only revolutionary tool of both mentality and praxis; therefore it is to be used as an active arm against – as Enlightenment said – obscurantism, always lying in wait. Obscurantism as anti–history is the positive hope to find fabricated solutions; it is the realistic acceptance of the status quo.”

(Eugenio Battisti)

The building - in the heroic shape of its building yard, of its excavation, of the public spaces and passages embedded in its body, of its dimension, as dinosaur of the Umberto I time - becomes the tool for the diffusion and the coming out of AMOR, the underground ghost town, mirror of ROME.

The white which wraps these public spaces represents the appearance of new sensuous world.

A floating and confusing “elsewhere”, surprising us and causing us to lose our bearings.

A Public Good which must be carefully looked after.

An “elsewhere”, exactly.

Un luogo al centro di una capitale. Stratificazione come tema obbligatorio.

Travertino. Grandi archi e torri mazzoniane. Roma.

Lo spazio pubblico viene portato dentro all’edificio.
