Winner entry for a Micro-Kitchen challenge by First Build, which purpose was to design a kitchen using the Microliving concept. Microliving is a way of living in small spaces, taking advantage of each corner of the space, turning it into a functional space.

The main concept for the kitchen is to keep it modular, in that way, it is easier to move and it fits through a window or an elevator. All the modules feature "push-to-open" drawers, so it keeps the functionality. My concept integrates the function according to the module. There are 4 main modules:

01_Cleaning Module: which is integrated by the sink, built-in dish washer unit & 2 drawers for storage & condiments.

02_Refrigeration Module: which is integrated by 2 refrigeration drawers, and 1 freezer drawer.

03_Cooking // Waste disposal Module: which is integrated by an induction cooktop, because of the energy efficiency and safety. Also includes a microwave / convection oven drawer. And a last drawer that includes 2 trash bins for organic & inorganic waste, and some cleaning products.

04_Storage // Dinning Module: which is integrated by a foldable service table, and a compartment for dishes, glasses, or cookware. So that way, there's no waste of space while the service table is on use.

A last module could be added, as a extra storage space in the upper part of the kitchen, which has sliding doors. But using only the 4 modules, it could become more functional for universal accessibility.

There's another accessory for the kitchen, that is a Magnetic Wall, so you can put magnets for recipes, telephone numbers, and also some Cookware, like spoons, Spatula, etc. So you can keep everything organized in a same spot.

Also, the back part of each module is proposed to be a door, so the maintenance becomes easier, so you will only need to move each module to fix any built-in appliance of the module. Instead of a one body kitchen, that could be difficult to fix the appliances.

I think this a important factor, because when you buy a appliance, you're not only buying it for it design, or function, but also for the easy-maintenance it have.

The modules are proposed to be made of a thin metal sheet, so the client could customize the color according to their style. The modular design allows the client to accommodate each module according to their needs / style / like.

Working on modules is easier for the client, because he could choose individually which module to buy, or different colors to choose. Instead of having a 1 body kitchen that you need to buy the whole piece.
