South Bank Tower | Design Haus Liberty

Design Haus Liberty has been asked to redefine luxury living for the 21st century. This iconic masterpiece will be showcased in the exclusive high-rise penthouses of CIT’s new development: South Bank Tower. Located on a prime riverside site, this penthouse take advantage skyline views and lifestyle living through architecture. Features include a champagne bar, indoor-outdoor pool, a levitaHng dining table, and a bathtub overlooking 180 degree views of the city.

DH Liberty worked with structural geniuses, AKT, to carve out a curved double height space which would bring in maximum light from a glass curtain wall. The views create an endless extension of the living room into the sky. We’ve taken inspiraHon from nature’s glacial hanging ice caves and sand dunes to create a juxtaposing design of both light and heavy volumes within the same space. While encapsulated in this monolithic and grandeur space the crystal geometries sparkles from above in an abstract form, connected by a delicate brass frame. A levitaHng, blackened steel table floats effortlessly in the space, canHlevering off of the structural column which folds in to the feature wall. The wall encases geometries which turn into wall sconces. The floor which is made of polished concrete and white Thassos marble creates a striated paSern as it enters the living room. The kitchen features bespoke, curved concrete panels to conHnue the massing of the wall behind. DHLiberty’s faceted island is featured in curved, brushed brass signature design exclusive for South Bank Tower.

The master bedroom is carved out of white traverHne which envelopes the space revealing a curved bronze wall with delicate hanging stone shelves and a hidden closet with an automaHc sliding door to the leather- lined vanity room and walk in closet beyond. The bedroom pays homage to Asian influenced design: raw white oak, white traverHne and dark metal surfaces create the perfect canvas to feature the dramaHc ambiance of light. A grid of delicate glowing glass represents a layer of rain fall which has been frozen in space. A copper Donald Judd piece decorates the back wall. And feature down lights create a stepping stone paSern of lights on the floor.

True luxury comes with a sense of an experience that is priceless. In the master ensuite, DH Liberty wanted to create an experience which allows an individual to take ownership of sky space that is so high above a city it is virtually an isolated world of your very own. Our custom made bathtub features Jacuzzi water jets and a relaxing atmosphere to layback in an oversized bowl ergonomically shaped to cradle the users. The glass wall in between the bedroom and bathroom is fully equipped with electrolyte privacy glass which becomes a projecHon screen in which a movie can be watched from the bedroom and the bathroom simultaneously. The marble steam shower seamlessly wraps around space with curved corners in a fully entrenched experience.

In the lounge and entertainment space, DH Liberty has computer scripted chandeliers that are inspired by the paSern of falling leaves. BriHsh arHsan's hand beaten gold leaves are are strategically feathered into the space catching reflecHons of light dancing on the ceiling. A conHnuous heated pool/sauna extends from inside to outside to create the illusion of walking on water and causHc reflecHons on the ceiling. A broken marble bar and brass laZce structure hold glasses and glass boSles whilst the temperature controlled wine storage above ensures the perfect environment for both red and whites.
