Upper West Side Duplex | Studio Modh Architecture
New York / United States / 2014
Reconfiguring spaces within a home is a second chance. Old building methods, different family sizes, and outdated ways of living can be renewed with optimism and generosity.
This residence, on the Upper West Side of Manhattan a stone’s throw from Central Park, combines two previously separated apartments into one. With a wonderful collection of art objects and paintings, the rooms are designed to bounce natural light deeper into the core of the living spaces to enlivens the spaces as well as the display of the artifacts. The material palette is light and clean to frame the strong lines of the existing dark hardwood floors and exposed masonry walls.
