"Tripod is an art installation designed as a tribute to two architecture elements, each of them imbued in the identity of the city of Porto: the stair and the balcony."

LIKEarchitects' new art installation - Tripod - is a spatial installation instigated by the formal exploration of two architectural elements - the stairs and the balcony - that stands as platform settled to be enthralled by the city, inciting a variety of activities and seeking new relations with the territory and its' people. While many of these will take place naturally by the spontaneous appropriation of passers-by, a collaboration with a Performing Arts Company - Esquiva Companhia de Dança -  was established to enhance Tripod's use, so that citizens and tourists could well attend intimate performances and music concerts, participate in tournaments, activities and conversations or even dinner at Tripod.

Tripod will be displayed from March 28 to April 12 in Largo dos São Domingos and later from June 6 to June 21 in Largo da Rua Chã, in Porto downtown. This project is integrated in Locomotiva, a cultural event conceived by Porto Lazer.
