near, in collaboration with TFR-Illustration, have designed a 185 sq.m flexible studio for 30 graduate students and 10 researchers in Brooklyn Dockyard. The proposal utilises the tall floor space of the mezzanine floor of the production hall to create a 2 storey studio space for ONE Lab.

Movable ‘Utility Docks’ on rails slide along the hallway, allowing tables to ‘dock’ onto the side walls, transforming your own work space into a pin-up / meeting / presentation space. Custom designed tables features a simple docking mechanism with other tables, with rotating storage-legs that welcome other users to sit around.

The proposed flexible and fun working atmosphere encourages spontaneous meetings and promotes interaction and collaboration among students and teachers.
