Terra madre affettuosa, contemplando la bellezza di un campo arato Per aver la pasta ci vuol la terra, per aver la terra ci vuole l’uomo che la solchi, nei solchi ci vuole il seme, dal seme nasce il germoglio verde, dal germoglio verde nasce il campo di grano, dal grano al mulino, dal mulino alla farina, dalla farina per avere la pasta ci vuole la massaia, per andare a tavola ci vuole la pasta, per avere la pasta ci vuole la terra. In this Project, our challenge was to design the building as an architectural synthesis to represent iconic element of Italy. The goal was also to define a pavilion comprehensible to everyone.

This multiplicity of concepts and references have been condensed in an iconographic recall, as a tangle of ‘spaghetti’, the Italian emblem for excellence, expression of the connection between culture and tradition, declined in variety of regional dishes, consumed by the Italians from north to south of Italy.

The idea is the tree house.

Pavilion is composed of monolith of 57m x 57m x 19m suspended over the ground for above 6m, with the tangle of 'spaghetti' in the middle. In the volume occupied by the 'spaghetti' the ramp that pass throught the different exposition areas has been located.
