Project b95 is located in Calgary’s Richmond-Knob Hill community, one of the city’s older inner-city neighborhoods. This 2014 built home aims to feature a cohesive design aesthetic specific to Calgary- a multicultural society - that would both honor the historic neighborhood where it’s located and celebrate modern design. This concept is carried out through the use of natural historic finishes, simplistic forms, and the use of iconic cultural elements. Through the use of color, and a play on façade plane depth, the attached sides are unique and easily distinguishable. The exterior aesthetic is transferred into the interior through the use of innovative materials such as authentic barn doors, raw metal customdesigned screens and fireplace, warm rustic elm flooring and butcher blocks that is reflective of the warmth of the exterior cedar screens. This project encompasses a unique and modern Calgary.
