Project b65 is located in Bankview, one of Calgary’s older established neighborhoods. Living in Calgary’s inner city is becoming more desirable, however living in close proximity to downtown guarantees high prices. The concept behind the design of this home was to create an affordable product with a modern, clean-lined appeal. The exterior features high contrast colors, which produce an unmistakable separation between the units. The linear line definition established through the color changes defines the crisp blocking to the architecture. The slanted roofline adds a dynamic element to the simple base of the home. The horizontal emphasis carried by the reclaimed barn board balances the roofline’s strong slant, presenting a fresh modern take on steep gable roofs. The home’s interior features a simplistic, open concept with rustic and industrial accents, which tie the interior and exterior together into an ideal urban Calgary home.
