CITIES MADE BY EMOTIONS

At any time of the day we are immersed in the energy processes of which often we do not realize. Here we want to deal with the energy of the place. They can transmit, offer energy marriageable in a multitude of ways, crossing a road can we consume energy like crossing a place we can necessarily get it. What we want to address is a description of the places, spaces, in terms of "energy".

A place is able to convey emotions, perceptions, feelings, experiences. All forms of energy, but in the same way it can subtract it acting on those that can be physical, psychological elements. A wall can hinder, a screen can prevent you see, a distance can consume ourselves, until we reach a threshold of tolerance that forces us to avoid that place, that space.

In the study case, we have identified the places “energy producers” (white) and places “energy dissipating” (blacks).

Introducing the energy in the reading of urban landscapes  you can see the city in a new light. Perspective no longer inextricably linked to politics of zoning, that with its logics has helped to break down the city in different monofunctional areas causing separation, segregation and division into sectors. All these areas must be focused on the city-users as “sensors” which senses, lives, collects perceptions, emotions and experiences. It is essential a careful approach and versatile, achievable in small interventions that can be replaced easily, if they have not shown the right efficiency. It's so important to reserve them a trial period appropriate to those who are the physiological timing of the city. Much smaller is the intervention and much more it needs to be effective: it should be able to understand the essence of the place and what more they need to become a "positive space" with minimal energy spent. Intervention must break the perimeters, the limits of space and invade to intercept flows, engaging users also acting as a "barrier": the city is indeed a place of contamination. It is one of the greatest inventions of man, which can and should go back to being a space in its dimensions, therefore has to deal with the emotions of his inventor and his way of living everyday life. It must be an unpredictable place for meetings and socializing, a place of contamination, a mood, a series of emotions.
