On a 500 sqm plot in Tel aviv we were asked to design a family house (parents and two children).

Especially in smaller plots, issues such as privacy in a dense area, the quality of space and the important role of the court are major factors taken into consideration while planning houses.  The relationship between the inner space and the outer space, giving a wider experience of space.   An experience that brings the air, light and nature making it an integral part of our living space.

In the LEGO game of planning privet houses, the cube that is more "closed" is associated with the bedrooms (sometimes it divides into two parts, one for the parents and one for the children.)

The other cube, the "open" one, belongs to the living space..

The relationship between the "closed" and the "open" cube along with the garden space is the story of each individual house.

This house is built in a similar way.  Thr "closed" cube contains the kitchen space and the family room on the groud floor, and the children room on the first floor.

The master bedroom is located on the roof hanging from the "closed" cube creating a 5 meter high living space under.  That "open" cube is strongly realated to the outer space.

In the garden, close to the building, the swimming pool is located.

The water in the pool and a wall with a waterfall at the background is painting the inner space with a calm peacfull filling.

The total construction area is 450 square meters.

The flooring on the ground floor is a old stone floor brought from the East. The floor in the House and out in the garden is the same floor that creates the continuity of space between the inside and outside.

The pool is covered with pebbles that give a natural look to the pool.

A window with metal framing, 5 meter high, helps to create the strong conection to the water, sky and changing weather.

Experience as an architect in designing privet homes is the encounters between different people, changing tastes, needs, and plots.  Topographic and environmental information.  The story of the building is a mirror of its owner and the living environment.
