A strong, extreme, tormented personality to be translated into a language of architectural forms and, at the same time, integrated into a part of the historical city, strong of its own personality. This is the design challenge for the new Hans Christian Andersen Museum in Odense which requires a global and necessary transformation of the current building, which does not fully meet all the visitors expectations. There are painful and rough issues, more real than ever, around the metaphor of the Danish writer's stories, themes that represent one of the design motivations of the new HCA Museum.
