Controlled ColorBurst | MORIQ

Client Brief: This was a model villa to be done in a gated community. As in any other endeavor of this nature, the requirement was to show the maximum potential of the house so that the buyer sees the viability and work out the logistics of purchasal by physical weighing down the pros and cons All this but also with a little `bit more'. That ‘more’ was to do this mock up as if someone is doing up their fantasy home, a home which they have always hoped to do but wont or don’t not because –

-To utilize the spaces judiciously and make good use of every square foot. All of this should be

Achieved in a time limit.

--To show to the buyer, the full potential of the house (interior).

As the house came with good bones, there was good outside inside connection.

Context & Description: This was a 4 bedroom house. There were 2 levels. The GF had the Masterbedroom and the living areas with kitchen + dining. The FF had 3 bedrooms with a terrace.For a more lavish feel of space, we decided to bring down the walls between the kitchen and dining. Similarly walls were also removed from the drawing room and near the staircase. A partition was introduced as a privacy wall between the entrance lobby and family lounge. Upstairs, all the walk-ins were made to mingle with the bedroom. With this the basic stage was set. Now it required some very smart dressing sense to complete it.

Concept: The approach was to tackle the interior in a color centre manner.  To have a outburst of colours which should both uplift the whole of the ambience and yet be not too overpowering.  The flooring was done in hardwood. The same flooring was extended to steps and part of the ceiling where the AC indoor units were also hidden. Ceiling was done in varied levels with subtle colour differences, grooves in the N/S direction were made to seen to match with there direction of the wooden flooring. Slits were made in the ceiling where all the lights are fixed. Therefore avoiding any harsh/direct light.

Due to the time limit the focus shifted from alternative interior specifications lot of which can be executed quickly. New materials were used like stoners in place of stone; minimum usage  of wood veneer (which would require polishing etc) was used. All toilets were done in mosaic  tiles. Painted glass was used liberally like as kitchen back walls and ward robe shutters.

Furniture was hand picked keeping in mind the colours. Colourful rugs tied up the whole space. Wooden blinds and drapes were kept to neutral colours. All the other accessories were carefully selected to go with the desired look.
