I installed three type’s objects this time.
There are the square metal plate, the small disk metal plate and metal frame type.
You can look forward to experiencing colored reflections with patterns on the snow.

Snow piled up in such humorous forms. Wind did not blow here in the court of the art museum. We saw them like shaved ices.

First of all, the shorts ones might be covered by the snow. The higher ones might eventually show their colors on the snow. The forms of piled up snow change every day.
And, all pieces might be covered at last.
Then the highest one might appears again early in spring by a thaw.

The rate of reflection on the snow is very high and mysteriously the color gets clearer when it is cloudy or snowy.
In case of warm days, the snow melts and colorful icicles form by an effect of reflection.

I find interesting natural phenomena in every winter.

When all objects are covered on snow by the unusually heavy snowfall, several visitors complain to me. They say to me, "we can see nothing". I answer “It all depends on weather.”
Then, the installed pieces are alone. We must let these alone, and must not touch.
This is the concept of my works in winter.
I think that art in natural contexts should be like this.

My objects are the device for you to rediscover the beauty of nature around you. When I install some pieces, the snowy white color looks more beautiful. When I install some pieces, the snowy form piled up looks so interesting.
My objects are not the leading role. They are supporting actors for beautiful nature.

Everybody tends to hate winter, but if you change your point of view, the possibilities for the future are wide open I hope my work will start a new approach to thinking about winter art.
I would like to send a message of art in the regions with heavy snowfalls from Sapporo, Hokkaido.
