The counter was specifically designed for the flagship store of Record e’ Cucine in Milan’s, Brera district.

The idea began with a pure white lacquered block and a single cut slicing through to expose a black inner core.

Cutting away the block’s corner creates geometry and angles which form a display surface, with space to allocate brochures, magazines and published material.

The geometry allows the items to be seen from above at a standing view point and at the same time maximising the work surface area on top.

In elevation view the cut acts as a display and storage from several angles, both from the side and above.

The counter can be used for a variety of purposes such as a display space, a checkout counter or a working space. Additional leg space is at the back for seating and compartment storage.
Creating a functional display, whilst maintaining a slick clean aesthetic.
