The merger of tax consultants and lawyers in a new building can be interpreted very differently. Exciting with our task was the willingness of the customer to communicate with all due seriousness a modern, sustainable image. This led to great ideas for materials and furnishings.

The client: tax consultants and lawyers focussing on the local market.

With the relocation to Sheridanpark Augsburg, two established companies with approximately 30 employees cooperate and find themselves under one roof. The tax consultants and lawyers of Förschner & Partner can thus provide their clients with extensive consultation services on shortest paths.

The task: translating nature into the space, visualizing the core values of the company

The elongated timber sectional construction divides itself into two floors with numerous offices and conference rooms, a reception area and staff areas (pantries, lounge). In the first design phase of the interior spaces, the use of natural materials was intended – a continuation of the construction material; wood. In addition, the values โ€‹โ€‹of the firm, such as quality and professional competence should be implemented in a modern design and functional procedures were supported in the best possible way.

The idea: to convey the aesthetics of the profession through surfaces and material

To emphasize on the character of the building, the design focusses on natural materials. For example, the use of patinated copper on the surfaces of the numerous filing cabinets along the hallways. At the same time, the materials can be seen as a metaphor for the activities in the house, e.g. copper as a hint on coins and thus on the industry of the building owners.

The creative interpretation: warm  surfaces, cool contrasts, strong statement pieces

The material, which was predominantely used is spruce wood, varnished white, used as three-layer panels that were given through the timber construction of the building. In order to improve the accoustics, and not to get too woody, we decided to use a vinyl flooring, manufactured in a fully sustainable way, dipping the spaces into an elegant appearance, which is reinforced yet again through the copper surfaces of the cabinet wall. The burnished copper on these cabinets was applied in various pitches and depths, in order to obtain a dynamic structure on the large scale cabinet surfaces. The attorneys offices are characterized by felt-covered cabinet doors in cool, different blue tones, - alluding to the traditional furnishings of law firms, where damping fabrics were used particulrarily often. Luxurious wool fabrics also occur in the lounge areas. The workdesks are covered with a natural material as well: Linoleum. Strips of cork on the office walls serve employees as pinboards and define a space for private things such as pictures and postcards. The stair connecting the two floors was constructed with an elegant handrail, embedded into the balustrade. Its steps consist of steel trays that were filled with poured asphalt and covered with the same vinyl flooring which was used throughout the space. All threads come together at the reception desk. With its crystalline shape and its surface continuously held in Linoleum, its function as communication and control centre is emphasized.

The success: elegance, objectivity and professionalism boost the working atmosphere

As a result of the cooperation with the architect Frank Lattke, Augsburg, we were able to implement our central ideas and targets, at a very early stage already. With the continuous use of the composed coulour and material conception, a harmonious and bright atmosphere has been created, which has been very well recieved by employees and clients.
