Cafe on Malaya Konuyshennaya 10 | Trofimov studio
interior and exterior design Sankt-Peterburg / Russian Federation / 1999
Café is located on the ground floor of a building from 1870’s. The space was in a very bad condition at the beginning of reconstruction. The basement has been full of water but was still used as kitchen and supply rooms. There was a massive brick wall in the middle of the room– a part of bearing system. On the other hand by this we created two symbols of historical eclectic style. Window vaulted lintels inspired us to create curved forms and smooth shapes of quiet beige and brown colors.
