From a small run down cottage to ‘contemporary easy living’, 8 Rugby Road now enjoys the benefits of the site, which were exposed by building to vantage points and maximizing views. Existing structural foundations were used as the base for a new open plan, double volume veranda and living space. Roof design allows viewing of Table Mountain from all three levels and bridges and catwalks have been added to improve entrances and circulation. The double volume veranda is key to creating views through the house and provides shade to harsh sun.
