ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre | Trofimov studio

The complex consists of 3 big exhibition pavilions, one multifunctional hall and one congress hall. Total area of the project is more than 33500m² with a large passage of 7500m² that connects all pavilions together. Its length is about 500m which has become an exciting challenge for the project. We had to be very concentrated and clear with all of the design, not to lose the perception of integrity of ExpoForum. Design there is based on simple rectangular forms, balance between glossy and matte surfaces and relations between 3 colors: white, dark-grey and black, which serve as basics and smaller doses of multicolor as a part of navigation system (there are 5 different colors for various parts). One of the main tasks was to design the passage. Its rank of metal pillars of structural glazing was emphasized by planar glazing system and vertical rhythm of decorative grating. Due to the fact that there are offices, conference and meeting rooms on the second floor that overlook the passage, the planar glazing has black color which saves continuity of the space. There is a set of randomly located skylights in the ceiling where we put the LED-light system, so it could be interpreted as at the daytime and always has reflections on the glossy black side of panels.
