The whole area is conceived as an extended pedestrian space along entire Hermitage Repository complex and turns into enfilade of sites with varied design that is connected by transit pavements. The “Hermitage’s Square” (this is how it is called in the project) is considered as a large exhibition area for museum’s treasures. However, in terms of design and technological solutions, it is opposed to a classical garden of the XIX century. The sites could be divided into an entrance square with regular garden, a landscape park with relief of “archaeological vertical cuts”, a garden with sculptures and zone of ancient symbols with decorative waterfall in the pool, an entrance zone with sun-dial and a hanging garden with artifacts from “The Small Hermitage”.
