DESCRIZIONE DI PROGETTO
Occupando l'ex casa - fattoria del 15 ° secolo, il progetto prevede la realizzazione di un centro di formazione per l'organizzazione di beneficenza globale Shelterbox.
Il complesso residenziale e universitario comprende aule e aree di formazione esterna, oltre ad un centro visitatori ed un teatro configurati attorno a 2 corti. La formazione è fornita da forze speciali per garantire che gli agenti di soccorso siano preparati ad affrontare catastrofi globali.
Il progetto prevede uno sviluppo sostenibile esemplare, con il riutilizzo del patrimonio edilizio esistente. Si prevede l'integrazione delle tecnologie di energia rinnovabile .
Al fine di ottenere la certificazione BREEAM Excellent per riflettere l'impegno della carità, ad uno sviluppo sostenibile.
Il gruppo di edifici esistenti si prestano facilmente allo sviluppo di un campus accademico.
I principali elementi che compongono il progetto sono :

1. La “Reception Square” : una piazza aperta su un lato da cui si accedere che costituisce lo spazio di orientamento per coloro che arrivano presso l'Accademia e comprende le funzioni di accoglienza e di amministrazione.

2. L'Accademia che comprende i principali spazi di insegnamento e costituisce il cuore del sistema con una piazza scenografica circondata da edifici a cui si accede tramite un link di collegamento con l'edificio Reception Square. La sistemazione

3. La strada perimetrale di servizio elimina la necessità di veicoli all'interno del sito. Le aree di parcheggio sono stati situati lungo il perimetro del sito in zone schermate dalla vista.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Occupying the former home-farm of a 15th century manor, this projects establishes a training centre for the global relief charity Shelterbox.
A residential, quasi-university establishment this project comprises lecture theatres and external training areas as well as visitor centre and media theatre around 2 courtyards. Training is provided by Special Forces to ensure Relief Agents are prepared for the global disasters that they encounter.
The Academy will be an exemplar sustainable development, with the re-use of existing building stock where possible. A-rated materials will be specified where new build elements are to be included in the development. The opportunity exists for the integration of renewable energy technologies, such as a biomass boiler and district heating system, coupled with photovoltaic panels, an approach that has been used successfully across the existing Trelowarren Estate.
It is intended that The International Training Academy will seek a BREEAM Excellent rating to reflect the charity’s commitment to a sustainable development.
The group of buildings that constitute Home Farm lend themselves readily to the development of an academic campus. The principal organising elements of the scheme are:

1. The reception Square which is a square open on 1 side to access and acting as an orientation space for those arriving at The Academy. and containing the reception and administration functions.

2. The Academy Quadrangle located at B is the heart of the scheme. This is the key formal element of the layout, with a landscaped square surrounded by buildings and accessed via an enclosed link through a “gateway” building from the Reception Square. The accommodation includes the main teaching spaces.

3. A perimeter service road has been delineated, removing the need for operational vehicle to penetrate the site. This road also accesses the parking areas which have been located to the perimeter of the site in discreet areas that can be screened from view.
